See how the GRIP-A-LINE™ can give you an edge on the course with improved consistency in your golf grip and shotmaking.
Please reach us at support@grip-a-line.com if you can't find an answer to your question.
Yes you can! Rule 4.3.2 of the USGA Equipment Rules states that a glove must not incorporate “features, other than visual aids, designed to assist the player in placing his hands in a consistent and/or specific position on the grip” (emphasis added). Since the GRIP-A-LINE™ marks on the glove and the tattoos are simply visual aids, they are allowed under the rules of golf and can be used in any level of competition.
You can try, but it's easy for those imaginary lines to be off by a few critical degrees - enough to get you into all kinds of trouble. Since the GRIP-A-LINE™ glove marks align with the shaft of your club, it's easy to see if the marks are aligned or not. Even being a few degrees off is easy to see.
Besides, the age-old "V-s pointing to your shoulder" advice may not be right for you. As explained in a Golf.com article by Joe Plecker, every player's body and range of motion varies and will impact the most efficient way to hold and swing the club. We'd all like to be duplicates of Rory McIlroy but, alas, we can't. The GRIP-A-LINE™ glove marks are customized to match the grip that works for you, not the other way around.
Yes. You can use the GRIP-A-LINE™ with any commercially available golf glove that conforms with the Rules of Golf.
The GRIP-A-LINE™ comes with a black colored marker to apply the customized alignment lines to your glove since the majority of golf gloves are white. If you prefer to use a black or dark colored glove you can use a silver colored permanent marker (not provided).
Once you've done it once or twice it only takes one minute to apply a temporary tattoo to your ungloved hand before you play.
It shouldn't take any more than a couple of minutes to apply the alignment marks to your golf glove and make sure they are customized to match your preferred grip style. Once applied, the marks should last for the life of your glove.
The GRIP-A-LINE™ temporary tattoos are designed to last through a typical round of golf or a session at your preferred practice facility. Apply the tattoo shortly before your round of golf or trip to the range. This ensures the tattoo is at its freshest and most durable.
Avoid scratching or scraping the tattoo as this can lead to premature wear or distortion. If the tattoo gets wet, gently dab it with a soft cloth instead of wiping to preserve its integrity.
Also avoid using lotions, oils, or sunscreen on your index finger just before application, as these can interfere with the tattoo's ability to stick properly.
Note that the tattoo's durability can vary based on factors like skin type, the amount of perspiration, and external conditions. In humid conditions, consider using a small amount of talcum powder around the tattoo area after it has dried.
You can usually remove the tattoo by simply rubbing it off.
It's generally not necessary, but if the tattoo is acting a bit stubborn you can scrub it off with soap and water or you can try using rubbing alcohol or a mild oil.
You can get more tattoos from the online store on this site. Order a set of our standard tattoos or create your own personalized set using the names of loved ones, reminders of your swing keys ("TEMPO"), inspirational thoughts ("RIP IT!"), or anything you want.
No. You should only use the temporary tattoos for marking your finger and not a permanent marker such as the one included for marking your glove. Permanent markers are not intended for use on skin. For instance, the safety data sheet for an industry leading brand indicates that their markers are "non-hazardous under normal use conditions" but includes the warning "do not use on skin or ingest." Users should be aware that the safety data sheet information for marker brands may vary and there could be potential unknown risks associated with applying ink directly to the skin. As such you should only use the temporary tattoos provided with the GRIP-A-LINE™ for adding the alignment marks to your ungloved hand.
GRIP-A-LINE™ and CorleyQ Enterprises LLC are not responsible for any adverse effects resulting from a user's decision to apply ink directly to their skin instead of using the temporary tattoos designed for that purpose.
Besides, the tattoo is easy to remove, and who wants to walk around with a marker line on their finger for hours or days after the round is over?
Yes. The alignment marks will simply be located a little further forward on your glove. Some gloves, such as those made by FootJoy, Maxfli and Kirkland, have very soft cuffs. Other brands, such TaylorMade and Callaway, offer cuffs with more resistance to the GRIP-A-LINE's pull. The amount of pull doesn’t impact the GRIP-A-LINE’s performance and it will be equally effective with any brand of glove. So feel free to choose the brand of glove that suits your style.
If you want, you can reduce the amount of pull on a soft cuff when applying the alignment marks by reinforcing the cuff with some of the spare rubber bands (size #16) that are included with the GRIP-A-LINE™.
If the alignment marks on your glove are slightly off, don't worry! The resistance applied by the rubber bands will still ensure the marks are aligned with the shaft even if they are slightly off center, Remember that the important thing is consistent positioning, not absolute perfection.
If you make a grip change and your glove marks are significant off, you can also reapply the marks using a different colored permanent marker to distinguish the revised lines.
When marking your next glove, we recommend using a previously marked glove as a reference so you can apply the marks to the new glove with confidence.
It can happen. One of the reasons we chose to use rubber bands is because they are easily replaceable. That's why we give you more rubber bands than you need. The extras can be stored in the ziplock storage bags provided to keep them fresh.
We'd be glad to sell replacement rubber bands if you need more, but in all honesty you can get them very cheaply and quickly through Amazon or local office supply stores. Be sure you get size 16 (2-1/2" x 1/16") for the Hand Mark Applicator and size 19 (3-1/2" x 1/16") for the Glove Mark Applicator.
If that's not a good option for you, please contact us directly at support@grip-a-line.com.
